WHO IS MR. P?
Meet Mr. P (short for Prouty) – a man known and loved by many for his selfless nature, generous heart, and deep commitment to the Ellijay community. In 1979, he opened the doors to Mr. P’s Takeout Food, creating a space where friends, family, and neighbors could gather over simple, delicious meals. More than 40 years later, Mr. P’s remains one of the most iconic and beloved restaurants in Ellijay, Georgia.
While Mr. P is no longer with us, his legacy is alive and well—thanks to his daughter, Kelly Bramlett, who has proudly owned and operated Mr. P’s for the past 15 years. Kelly has honored her father’s original vision while adding her own unique touch to the restaurant. Under her leadership, the menu has grown to include homemade recipes that reflect true Southern comfort, including our now-famous Pimento Cheese, made fresh in-house with love and family tradition.
From the fluffy, scratch-made buttermilk biscuits served hot each morning to hearty, flavorful takeout meals perfect for busy families, Kelly has kept Mr. P’s rooted in the past while evolving to meet the tastes of today.
At Mr. P’s, we continue to serve the same values we were founded on: kindness, quality, and community. Whether you're a local or just passing through, stop by and experience homestyle takeout food in Ellijay GA—the kind that turns a quick meal into a lasting memory.
